I've always been curious about the Supreme Court and this book explains, in a very readable, the Court process and engaging understanding of the personality of the judges. Once I started reading, I could not put this book.

Gee, any chance Toobin might be a liberal with an ax to grind rather boring? Here are some gems typical (one might list hundreds), this book is to give a flavor of its supposed "journalism": br / br / left-wing judges "powerful and lasting influence in American law, but Conservative Judges pay a cynical "war of ideas." br / br / Breyer, smiling good nature gregarious, while Scalia "smirks". br / br / Souter is "modest", "ascetic" and "self", while Thomas"Isolated" and "marginalized." br / br / Thomas "endorse barbarism" (really). br / br / Souter is "a fierce advocate" with a "sophisticated understanding", while Scalia has a "messianic sense of himself." br / br / "to the Conservatives care about – not consistent, not fair, but liberal judges are praised as" result-oriented. " br / br / Liberals are always "in principle" more conservative "ideological." br / br / Stevens is "typically smart" and its decisions show "wisdom andaltruism "as opposed to Scalia" youthful petulance "and" tired and angry dissent "br. / br / readers who see the above empirical facts as I would like this book.
