Watson meets Stapleton, the naturalist and then his beautiful sister (who tells himreturn to London). Stapleton was once a school teacher (Chapter 7). Watson sends letters to Holmes in London (Chapter 8). Mr. Frankland has a passion for litigation. He notes also the country with a telescope on his roof. Why was he so angry Stapleton (Chapter 9)? What was the secret of Barrymore? Watson meets Laura Lyons and feels his secret history (chapter 11). What do you hold? Mr. Frankland observed stone huts. Then Watson hears a terrible scream il Moro (Chapter12). Holmes has the solution to a murder in cold blood, but lacked definitive proof. Holmes has studied the picture of the wicked Sir Hugo. Then plans are made for the activities of the night. Will create a fog unexpected complication? Holmes, Watson and Lestrade save Sir Henry from a murderous fate. The villain fled into hiding on the moor, but justice has not been deceived. Chapter 15 ties the loose ends.br / br / This may be the most popular of the four novels Doyle Holmes. It is nota religion, a company town, or imperial plunder. Doyle implicitly criticizing a hereditary aristocracy that passed the evils of every generation? Traits of the bad stories seem real crime. Inheritance through murder has inspired other stories ( "The List of Adrian Messenger"). There is a flaw in this story. How could the purchase of food for a giant dog be kept secret? Sherlock Holmes might question the grocers and butchers of the area to find the owner ofthe giant dog.

We owe 1902’s IThe Hound of the Baskervilles/I to Arthur Conan Doyle’s good friend Fletcher “Bobbles” Robinson, who took him to visit some scary English moors and prehistoric ruins, and told him marvelous local legends about escaped prisoners and a 17th-century aristocrat who fell afoul of the family dog. Doyle transmogrified the legend: generations ago, a hound of hell tore out the throat of devilish Hugo Baskerville on the moonlit moor. Poor, accursed Baskerville Hall now has another mysterious death: that of Sir Charles Baskerville. Could the culprit somehow be mixed up with secretive servant Barrymore, history-obsessed Dr. Frankland, butterfly-chasing Stapleton, or Selden, the Notting Hill murderer at large? Someone’s been signaling with candles from the mansion’s windows. Nor can supernatural forces be ruled out. Can Dr. Watson–left alone by Sherlock Holmes to sleuth in fear for much of the novel–save the next Baskerville, Sir Henry, from the hound’s fangs?p Many Holmes fans prefer Doyle’s complete short stories, but their clockwork logic doesn’t match the author’s boast about this novel: it’s “a real Creeper!” What distinguishes this particular IHound/I is its fulfillment of Doyle’s great debt to Edgar Allan Poe–it’s full of ancient woe, low moans, a Grimpen Mire that sucks ponies to Dostoyevskian deaths, and locals digging up Neolithic skulls without next-of-kins’ consent. “The longer one stays here the more does the spirit of the moor sink into one’s soul,” Watson realizes. “Rank reeds and lush, slimy water-plants sent an odour of decay … while a false step plunged us more than once thigh-deep into the dark, quivering mire, which shook for yards in soft undulations around our feet … it was as if some malignant hand was tugging us down into those obscene depths.” Read on–but, reader, watch your step! Great story… but not on the kindle – Jesse D. Bishop –
I read a review of a free version of this for the Kindle has suggested that you spend a dollar or two to get a decent copy. Apparently the free version is more than its share of issues. I thought this was still a reasonable price to $ 0.99, then gave a shot. And 'more or less readable, but the frequency of errors is just unforgivable … although it is less than a dollar. There are no random interruptions in the mid-point and a half of a sentence (which means random, there is no apparent reason for it, actually showup fairly constant), the missing words at the beginning of chapters or paragraphs, and several typos (typing errors that do not exist in the print version I also bought). br / br / The story itself is an easy 5 stars. There must be some better versions out there, though.

Interesting from the first page. There is already a mystery to solve right when you open the book with a stick left mysterious in the office of Watson and Sherlock. br / br / Doyle held every page full of suspense and chills. Although I read, I could hear the low, mournful sound of the dog that keeps Stapleton locked around the barking moor.br / The characters are amazing and funny. Sherlock Holmes keeps me giggle with all its quirks and eccentrities. Watson is funny with its normalbeside Sherlock hypothesis. br / br / The mystery is intriguing and darker and deeper than it seems. The book can actually be quite disturbing and suspenseful, unlike other mystery novels where they answer the typical robbery or something like that. br / The only thing I did not like much compared to other authors that I read is that his sense of the description was not so good. I had to rely more on my imagination to see the Moors, as he described it, rather than what reallySeemed. br / Yet, despite this, the novel was comedy, mystery and a dash of horror, all in one delicious enchilada

Sherlock Holmes is at his best every time you read it, and this newly published edition is no different. The 2009 edition is well maintained and well presented, and the story is timeless. If you've read "Sherlock Holmes" in the past, should take no convincing as to why you should read it again. If you have never read this book, then you need to buy this today and enjoy the incredible story that the rest of us have enjoyed for years.
