Had already been suspended, which was purchased through avendor who was selling on Amazon. The printer was never open, even if the cart was included ink expired. No big deal. I have this printer instead of the newer Photosmart Axxx for 3 reasons: it was cheaper, the cartridge is supported # 100 Photo Gray, and the standard # 95 and # 97 color ink cartridges hold more ink than the # 110, that the series Axxx use (95 = 7ml; 97 = 14ml; 110 = 5ml) br / br / EASY 'installation: the setting of this printer is quick, painless and easy to follow. Pilotsactually installed without problems (a rarity for most of HP printer drivers in those days). Edit / align the ink cartridge is easy, until you have plain cards (so do not waste photo paper). One thing that surprised me was the inclusion of a full-featured, user manual printed. Usually, this is included in PDF format on CD drivers. Have a printed manual is a rarity these days, but certainly enjoyable. br / br / Ease of use: the interface of the printer itself is logically arrangedand easy to follow. This only got 3 stars was because first of all, the printer interface is slow. It takes at least 0.5 seconds for the printer to respond to a button. Second, the print drivers are very swollen, and the latest versions of HP digital imaging monitor have actually caused this printer to CRASH! (I have a yellow screen on the printer LCD display, which shows a symbol of power and "881AA0DA"). If I close my Digital Imaging Monitor, the printer works perfectly! / Br br / Features:This printer has features that will keep both snapshooters and advanced photographers happy. There are no more slots for memory cards, a front USB port (for PictBridge and USB drives), and a rear USB port (for connecting to a PC). The card slot can be used with or without a PC (this printer also acts as a memory card reader!) The printer has some basic controls for editing unless you have a PC (red eye removal, cropping etc.) There is a tilting 2-inch (or 2.5?) color LCD, but it is * very * lowin the resolution and quality, which makes every image look very bad about it. The printer can make prints that are up to 4 "wide (no 5×7 prints, sorry). 3×5, 4×6, 4×8, 4×12 and even the prints can be made with this printer (and of any size in between, I'm sure) . The printer can also run on a rechargeable battery, but for $ 60 – $ 70 dollars is awfully expensive. br / br / NOISE: This printer is generally * very * quiet. That would be one of the quietest printers I have used, if it were not for a low-pitched"squeak" that the print cartridge makes as it moves back and forth. The squeak comes and goes, but seems to get worse if the LCD is in the up position. When no creaking of the print cartridge is very quiet, and the paper feed is only slightly stronger. In general, it is much quieter than Dye-sublimation printers, even when it is creaking. br / br / Print Quality: At first, I was concerned with all the negative reviews about this printer is print quality. I am happy to say that the pressquality much exceeded my expectations – I did not think a single tri-color cartridge could do so well! If you have sharp eyes like me, you will be able to see some grains up-close, but most people would not be able to say anything. The colors are very good, and the blacks are really blacks (using HP Premium or Premium Plus card), which is impressive considering that blacks are really just the blacks composite. All the people I know have been thoroughly impressed with the prints I showed them. OfOf course, not as good as my father's Canon PIXMA Pro9000 or i960 (wheat and better clarity), but they have 6 and 8-ink printers, respectively, compared with 385, 3 inks. Also, I never had problems with color management once my monitor and printer are both set to sRGB. br / br / One of the reasons why I took this printer on new Photosmart printers Axxx is because the 385 supports tri # 100 gray cartridge. Instead of cyan-magenta-yellow, the 100 uses dark gray, medium gray, andgray. This makes it ideal for the 385 black and white photos. (I have not tried printing BW prints with a 95 or 97 wagons). BW prints come out with a lot of contrast, but can be a bit 'too dark and contrasted to some people. Fortunately, the printer drivers offer a lot of sliders to adjust to optimize the print output. br / br / This printer is picky about what paper you want. Seems to do best money-wise with HP Premium or Premium Photo Paper. With the HP Advanced Photo Paper, blacks anddark shadows appear as dark gray, and the overall color not / contrast is so good. The only other item I tried was the Canon Photo Paper Pro, but the 385 has refused to feed (which continued to slide on the paper). I've heard of problems with this printer paper jam, but apart from the Canon paper, I have never had this jam the printer, since I once owned (BR 3-4 years!) Br / / While I honestly can not measure fade resistance, the 385 probably has the best fade resistance in its class, whichis another reason why I bought it.br / br / The main quality issue-wise is the resistance of the water, or lack thereof. Water is produced on a print and the trash it goes. Will leave a stain where the water was. Heck, even greasy hands can cause problems with the prints! (especially if the prints are just out of the printer). While you can handle print jobs after they are printed, they will feel a rubbery wet for several hours. Until it gets wet, you should be fine. br / br/ PRINT SPEED: This is an area that could use improvement. A 4×6 on "best" quality takes exactly 1 minute and 39 seconds when printing from a PC (it is slightly slower when printing from a card). When printing a large batch of photos, this can be quite annoying. "Normal" quality takes him up to 60 seconds, but the quality suffers. "Max DPI" takes more than 2 minutes and makes absolutely no difference in quality from the "better". Br / br / Other thoughts: the ink and paper is expensive ifpurchased separately, but fortunately HP offers "Photo Value Pack" of 100 or 200 sheets + ink, which is * much * better deal. The pack of 100 sheets is equivalent to 29 cents / print (though I think it went to 32 cents per hour release), and 200-sheet pack is equivalent to 24 cents / print. That said, the fact that you can also buy paper and ink separately, first and 'very original for a printer in this class, and certainly adds flexibility to what can be printed (at a cost quite significantly,anyway).

I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of printed images from this little printer. E 'compact so as not to occupy much space on your desk and it's still easier to take a trip. Overall, there is an excellent printer. Another point is that the printer cartridges are reasonably priced for an HP printer. With the only problem is that it is not print 5×7's. I was very disappointed in this aspect.
